Copy this paragraph into Notability and work on the ordering of the sentences. What order should these sentences go in? Then copy it to your journal as an example annotation.


1. Krikorian says that he doesn't agree with immigrants “becoming an American just by them saying the oath of citizenship.” He believes that they should earn the right to serve in the armed forces by first forming their relationship with the United States.
2. This article supports the opposing position that disagrees with having immigrants as members of the U.S. armed forces. 
3. Author, Mark Krikorian is a nationally recognized expert on immigration issues and Krikorian has been the Executive Director of the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) since 1995.
4. Currently, more than 37,000 green-card holders serve in the military and account for about 3% of active-duty soldiers.
5. He cites this fact to support the idea that the U.S. should be wary of developing a mercenary army that is made up of illegal immigrants who are still loyal to their own countries. 

Research
  • First, create a beautiful new Google doc, complete with heading, title (Annotated Bibliography), and drop indentations. See Example.
  • Just under the title, type out your research question.
  • Find, cite and annotate two articles!
  • Turn them in on Google Classroom tonight. 
  • Basic rules for overall format:
    • one-inch margins (except header is 1/2 inch from top)
    • last name page number as header
    • Title the page Annotated Bibliography (do not underline, quote, bold or italicize the title)
    • Type your research question below the general title.
    • Double space all citations, but do not skip spaces between entries (no double double spaces)
    • Entries should be in alphabetical order by last name
    • Name of publication should be italicized
    • Make sure drop indenting continues throughout the whole source entry
    • Make sure heading has your name, my name, period number and date

HW: Find, cite and annotate two articles tonight and upload them to Google Drive (10 pts. HW Category). BTW, you may want to include a quote in your annotation. It will save you time later.
