Tuesday 8/25 ~ My Sister's Keeper Quiz

Prefixes
We will be learning MANY word parts this year, including prefixes, roots and suffixes. This is a killer way to prepare for the SAT and life. If you know that base of a word, you can usually use the context to figure it out. We will learn a chunk of the list that is shared by all grade levels. Check it our and review last year's portion by using the link on the left side of the blog.

EC Opportunity: Does anyone want to lead this activity all week?

In our journals, you will need to have a "Word Parts" section. For each prefix, root, or suffix, please record the word part, the definition and at least three words that use it.
For example:

EQ: Do your example words use the word part as a prefix? Does it carry the same meaning in the word?
  • dominus - lord - dominant, dominion, dominate
  • dynasthai - be able - Now it's your turn to make them up!

Quiz: My Sister's Keeper
