Unplanned Absence
Just in case I have an unplanned absence, I want you to still have a chance to make this day count. Please take this opportunity to take the practice SAT test. The test will take the entire period. Focus in and get as far as you can. We will review the sections you were able to complete when I return. Please time yourself as you complete each section so that you pace yourself according to the time allotted. You may work on more than one section, then score your work; or score your work as you work section by section. Be honest! I'm not doing this to grade you, but rather so that you can see your own progress since this test will count for your future in the next couple of years. So, be sure not to look at the answers until you have completed the entire section you are working in.
You are welcome to take the test as a .pdf or digitally online.
The full test takes 3 hours and 20 minutes, so you will not complete the test. If my absence continues tomorrow, please continue from where you finish today. You will receive a grade, not for your score, but for your completion. I will gauge assignment completion by comparing how far you've progressed in the number of minutes available to you, minus a bit of time for roll-call, etc... (some school days have longer periods than others). This assignment is based on class time and is not homework for the evening.
Above all, respect the substitute. Please work the entire period on this assignment. It is a great tool for both of us to see how your learning is progressing.
See you soon!
Mrs. West
