RESEARCH

1. Review:
  • What goes into an ANNOTATION? Does your weekend annotation, Journal 10, meet the criteria?
2. TAKE NOTES as Journal 11: How do I write a CITATION?
  • Click here for the Purdue OWL complete guide.
Example Citation:

3. Let's do one together. Click here for the article.

4. Let's look at the article you found for your AWC over the weekend.
  • Is it cited properly according to Purdue OWL?
  • If it needs repairing, then fix it and I will check it.
  • If you're spot on, then you receive a journal pass.
  • I will also take a look at your annotation.
The Power of One
  • While I'm checking, you should be reading Chapter 5.
  • As you're reading, I would like you to once again highlight where Hoppie either encourages Peekay or teaches him something about boxing and/or life. Remember: Hoppie was only in Peekay's life for a day and a night, but he set Peekay's life in a fresh new direction full of possibilities.
HOMEWORK

Journal 12: Diggin' Deep
Go to a quiet place.
Find a piece of regular old binder paper, or maybe a beautiful sheet of colorful/printed paper.
Find a regular old pen/pencil, or a very special pen/pencil.
Close your eyes and think about someone or some event that changed the course of your path. Maybe it didn't exactly change your path, maybe it changed your way of thinking.
Take 15-20 mins. and write about the person and/or the event.
Due: tomorrow
(10 points)
