    (1) A self-taught photographer, gordon Parks grew up in south Fork, Kansas. (7) Working from his piano at his apartment, he wrote the films screenplay and musical score. (8) He wrote and directed other projects, including leadbelly, the story of the Blues Legend Huddie ledbetter.
