EQ: What are rhetorical devices?
  • ethos- think of being persuaded by someone's moral character (credibility). Wow! he's a good person! or
          This must be true because he's an expert.
  • pathos- think of being persuaded by emotion. Stop thinking and start feeling!
  • logos- think of being persuaded by logical reasoning. Bring on the graphs, charts and stats! 
          Has to be true. Look at all of these facts.

  • Finish movie and Journal 20: List ten ways that the director imposed a South African interpretation. Then write one paragraph giving your opinion on the movie. How effective were the director's choices?
